Syntosis

Syntosis is Jason Matthew Everett's free biomorphic distorted display font from 1998, with letters that look grown rather than drawn. Its swollen silhouettes, pinched openings, and little nub-like protrusions give the font a cellular, almost alien rhythm that stays playful even when the forms get strange.

That makes Syntosis a natural fit for club flyers, experimental posters, indie record sleeves, title cards, and zine covers where the lettering can behave like image as much as text. As a free font, it works best in short bursts - logo-style headlines, weird branding, or one-word callouts - because those blobby contours carry the mood on their own.
