Protection

Protection by Jakob Fischer is a free curly display font with a storybook blackletter mood. The letters lean on rough, hand-cut shapes and long, tapering strokes, then break the Gothic seriousness with playful curls that loop out of the r, t, and e and give the whole font a wiry, slightly mischievous pull.

It works well for fantasy book covers, Halloween flyers, tavern signs, themed posters, and title cards where a medieval hint needs more wit than solemnity. As a free font, it also fits short branding lines, chapter openers, and drop-cap style initials, because those curling turns give even a few letters enough character to carry the page.
