Koenig-Type Mager by Dieter Steffmann of Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free medieval blackletter font with a lively, hand-cut appearance. Broad, uneven strokes bend into hooked feet and pointed joins. Rounded lowercase forms and generous inner spaces keep the lettering open, yet the irregular contours recall printing from an early storybook.
For packaging, the font can turn beer labels and specialty food wrappers into old-world graphics, with enough eccentricity to feel illustrated rather than formal. It also suits fantasy book covers and historical game artwork, especially for tavern scenes, folklore, and medieval storytelling.
