Dirty Classic by Billy Argel is a free distressed calligraphic script with an extravagant silhouette and remarkably dense, overlapping decoration throughout. Sweeping capitals and long hairline flourishes repeatedly loop through the lettering, often crossing the heavier strokes. Ink spatters and scraped patches break up the formal penmanship across both broad strokes and fine curves.
Its collision of ornate calligraphy and grunge belongs naturally to underground rock graphics, especially album artwork and concert posters, and can also suit tattoo studio branding or rebellious fashion labels. Concert posters are its most convincing home.
