Blue Highway was created in 1996 and is based on Canadian and U.S. highway-sign lettering. It was discontinued in 2004 and replaced by Expressway. Earlier versions had technical problems.

Blue Highway 5.0 is free and includes an updated license agreement permitting web embedding, format conversion, modification, and embedding in applications.
