Awesome Java Regular Police

Awesome Java by Adien Gunarta is a free Javanese-inspired display font with radically simplified monoline lettering. Tall, narrow forms feature low crossbars, deep hooks, and occasional dots. The design recasts Latin characters through Southeast Asian script forms.

Festival posters are its strongest setting, especially for programs centered on Indonesian arts and culture. The same linear construction suits album covers, restaurant branding, and event graphics. In editorial design, it can turn a title into an echo of Javanese letterforms.

Java is an island of Indonesia. With a population of 136 million, it is the world’s most populous island and one of the most densely populated regions in the world. It is home to 60% of Indonesia’s population.
